Shaun Bhatia

Research Consultant

Shaun Bhatia

Shaun Bhatia’s research is focused in the areas of community violence intervention, environmental criminology, and spatial econometrics. His early training centered on statistics, psychology, and epidemiology at the University of Illinois, and he received his doctorate in community psychology from DePaul University in 2023. During his postdoctoral research fellowship, Shaun worked closely with the CDC-funded Michigan Youth Violence Prevention Center and Institute for Firearm Injury Prevention, both based at the University of Michigan. His primary projects have concerned the role of communities in reducing neighborhood violence and in particular, how modifications in physical space (e.g., greening, reducing blighted housing and illegal dumping) can help achieve such reductions. Shaun is currently a spatial modeling consultant with CORNERS where he continues to support evaluations of community violence intervention.
