Angel Boulware, PhD, is a researcher with expertise in qualitative and community-engaged research and program evaluation. She earned her PhD in Human Development from the University of Chicago, where her research examined the impact of community violence on adolescent psychosocial development.

Dr. Boulware’s work spans community violence prevention, health services research, and clinical and community-based research. Prior to joining CORNERS, she completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where she contributed to research on community violence intervention programs, trauma-informed care, and the implementation and evaluation of programs designed to improve health and community outcomes. She has also collaborated on research across the Johns Hopkins Schools of Medicine and Nursing, including studies focused on patient experiences and health disparities.

Her work emphasizes using qualitative methods and community perspectives to understand how programs, systems, and policies affect the experiences and outcomes of individuals and communities.
