Naomi Ostrander is a Research Data Analyst Associate at the Center for Neighborhood Engaged Research & Science (CORNERS) at the Institute for Policy Research. She received a bachelor's degree in political science, international studies, and global health studies from Northwestern University in 2018. After graduating, Naomi spent a year at the James B. Moran Center for Youth Advocacy as part of Northwestern's Public Interest Fellowship where she supported their communications strategy and fundraising goals. She then worked at Sidley Austin LLP as a Paralegal for three years before transitioning to CORNERS as a Research Project Coordinator. While at CORNERS, Naomi worked primarily within the North Lawndale community on a two-pronged impact and process evaluation of the North Lawndale Collaborative, an innovation and collaborative approach to community violence intervention in the neighborhood. In 2025, after three years at CORNERS, Naomi was awarded the Bloomberg American Health Initiative fellowship in the violence focus area; and left to pursue her Master of Public Health (MPH) at Johns Hopkins University’s Bloomberg School of Public Health. After an incredible year in Baltimore, learning from experts at the forefront of their fields, Naomi graduated with her MPH and a certificate in Injury and Violence Prevention. She is excited to bring her skillset and passion back to Northwestern University in pursuit of a safer and healthier Chicago. In their free time, Naomi enjoys being outdoors, rock climbing, going to the movies, and spending time with her pet rabbit Nibbler.
