Helena Thomas

Helena is a Research Project Manager passionate about community engaged research that employs a multi-method, interdisciplinary approach to understand the social, political, and individual realities involved in violence and healing. Helena brings years of experience in Chicago’s community violence prevention ecosystem. Prior to joining CORNERS, she worked at Civic Consulting Alliance, where she advised the City of Chicago on strategy and implementation for a number of community violence intervention and police accountability initiatives. She holds a B.S. in Statistics with a specialization in Public Policy Analysis from the University of Chicago.

Featured Projects

Currently, our research focuses primarily on gun violence prevention and community violence intervention (CVI), policing practices, and public safety, and we are expanding into other areas that effect neighborhood health and well-being.
