Celeste Garton

Celeste is a junior majoring in sociology and economics at Pomona College. As a lifelong resident of Chicago, Celeste holds a deep commitment to the development of the city and the strength of its communities. Last summer, Celeste worked extensively with one of Chicago’s largest food pantries, overseeing grocery distribution, client registration, and volunteer engagement. In her spare time, Celeste enjoys cooking for her family, running, and exploring the city on foot.

Currently, our research focuses primarily on gun violence prevention and community violence intervention (CVI), policing practices, and public safety, and we are expanding into other areas that effect neighborhood health and well-being.
