Ebony has dedicated over 15 years in the field of social services lending her expertise to communities within the west and south sides of Chicago. Over her tenure she has always had a passion for advocacy and work as it relates to African American families and communities. She has researched and presented on the topics of Historical Trauma, Post Traumatic Slavery Disorder, as well as Engaging African American Families to Chicago Children Advocacy Center, UCAN, Adler University, and University of Chicago to name a few. Ebony has also collaborated on and written on an evaluation initiative related to keeping communities safe. Ebony looks forward to engaging in research that will bring impacts to communities and assisting with processes to effectively reduce gun violence. Ebony holds an MA in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis on children and adolescents from Lewis University and a PhD in Community Psychology from National Louis University. Her passion is to assist in psycho education within communities in order to fuel advocacy and community change. Ebony lives by the creed of “giving a voice to the voiceless.”
